The Annual General Meeting of Whitegate Hurling Club was held on Monday December 30th. A large crowd was in attendance, which was in response to the very successful year had by the club and indeed the county; 2013 is a year that will live long on in the minds. On display on the night were the trophies received at Intermediate, under 21, under 15 and under 14 levels.

The Chairperson David Solon who remains in place for the coming season paid tribute to the success achieved at all levels within the club; special emphasis was placed on very hard fought victory in the under 14 final against neighbours Bodyke, the Intermediate Championship win and the subsequent Munster club championship games against Youghal. The first weekend in November will live long in the memories of the club; which brought a return to senior action and a display of courage, skill and determination that led to a draw following extra time less than twenty four hours after claiming the county title. The chairperson also highlighted the support received at these games and the level of pride that was felt by the club and community at large by the performances of the team over these three games. Tribute was also paid to our clubman Brendan Bugler on his achievements during the year. Alongside being the Intermediate captain, Brenda brought the first All Ireland medal to the club, gained a second All Star award and won a county football medal with Cratloe.

The secretary gave a detailed report of the year. He paid tribute to all those involved in assisting the club throughout the year; first aid/ physio, referees, those who assist team officials, cater for teams/ events in the clubhouse. The financial report was distributed by Adrian Hynes. It was acknowledged to have been an expensive year within the club. The success of the club Lotto was recognised and those involved were thanked for their commitment. A sincere word of thanks to all those that purchase tickets; without this patronage the club could not continue to prosper.
