Whitegate Gaa Annual General Meeting report Friday 14^th January 2011

The annual general meeting of Whitegate GAA Club was held on Friday the 14th of January in the clubhouse and attracted a good attendance. At the meeting members received full reports on the year’s activities from secretary Denis Tuohy and the chairman Pat Burke in addition to a comprehensive financial report from treasurer Adrian Hynes.

While on the playing front all those in attendance heard from the respective management of last year’s teams on a year that saw the Under 13 team victorious in a tournament organised by Clooney minor GAA club, Under 12 and under 15 reaching finals, semi-finals for the under 14 team, and quarter final places for 16, minor and under 21 teams. After receiving promotion for both adult teams in 2009, the 2010 season saw our Junior team finished third in the Clare Cup Division 4 with seven wins and two losses. The senior Team finished fourth in Division 1, with 5 wins, one draw and 3 losses. Both teams secured their status for 2011, in their respective championship competitions with mid-table finishes.

The meeting also paid tribute to outgoing chairperson Pat Burke, and other officers who did not seek re election were John Treacy and Noel Fahy, also management teams of both senior and junior teams, who were all thanked for their efforts over the years.

 

The position of the Senior and Junior A management teams along with the election of vacant officer positions will be discussed at a the first executive meeting.

The following officers were elected to the executive for the coming year following the AGM and first Executive meeting:

President: Sean Hynes & Micháel Cleary,

Vice Presidents: Billy Burke, Michael Doyle, and JJ Hynes
