From Dublin on N7/M7
If you are coming from Dublin on the N7/M7 heading south, turn off at the roundabout before Roscrea for Birr N62. Just before entering the main town of Birr follow directions to Portumna on R489. Go straight through the main street of Portumna and keep going straight on the main road R352 for about 15 miles, which will keep you on the main road to Whitegate. You will eventually see signposts for Whitegate. The Gaa Pitch is on your right as you approach the village.
From Dublin/Athlone on N6/M6 If you are coming from Dublin/Athlone on the N6/M6 heading south, exit at junction 15 (Ballinasloe West), taking the R355 to Portumna. In Portumna take the R352 (Ennis/Scariff Road)for about 15 miles, which will keep you on the main road to Whitegate. You will eventually see signposts for Whitegate. The Gaa Pitch is on your right as you approach the village From Ennis/ M18 Exit M18 at Tulla road Junction following the signs for Tulla on the R352. Continue on R352 going through Bodyke, Tuamgraney, Scariff and Mountshannon. As you approach Whitegate from this direction, go through the village and the Gaa pitch is on your Left-hand side |
